Mobile Telecommunication Network (MTN), a leading telecommunications service provider in Ghana and Africa, over the weekend held a massive musical concert, dubbed 'MTN First Anniversary Concert' at the Trade Fair Centre, La-Accra.
The concert, which commemorated the fist anniversary of MTN's introduction onto the Ghanaian market, featured exciting performances by local artistes including Amakye Dede, Reggie Rockstone, Tic Tac and Oheneba Kissi. One of the biggest crowds ever seen in recent memory converged at the forecourt of the Trade Fair Centre, to witness the event.
In a welcome message-broadcast to the teeming crowd, the Corporate Services Executive, Ms. Mawuena Dumor revealed that MTN was grateful for the support of Ghanaians and thanked the government, staff, partners and the good people of Ghana for the warm embrace extended to the company.
She stated that the company would continue to work in partnership with all stakeholders to deliver world-class telecommunications to its customers while remaining socially sensitive to the local communities.
In his remark, the Chief Marketing Officer, George Andah said that the support extended to MTN contributed to the company's winning of the prestigious CIMG Marketing-Oriented Company of the Year Award, and Best Television Advert of the Year.
He continued, "Subscribers can be assured of the continuous roll-out of innovative products and services, increasing investment towards enhancing network quality and a host of initiatives that will enrich customer experience".
An induction ceremony was also held for a number of famous personalities and institutions in the fields of music and football. They included Jerry Hansen of Ramblers fame, Kojo Antwi, Batman Samini, the Winneba Youth Choir and Prof. Atukwei Okai.
The captain of the senior national football team, Stephen Appiah, Michael Essien and Accra Hearts of Oak were recognized for their contribution to football excellence.
