South Africa: Sundowns Fined By PSL

7 October 2008

Mamelodi Sundowns have been found guilty on two charges of misconduct and fined R100 000 by the PSL's Disciplinary Committee after a hearing held at the League's office this evening.

Sundowns were charged on two counts of misconduct after the MTN8 Final last month when they failed to turn up for the post match press conference and also delayed the start of the second half by five minutes.

Sundowns pleaded guilty to both charges and are required to pay R40 000 within 30 days and the remaining R60 000 is suspended for 12 months.

Sundowns were also ordered to pay the costs of the two hearings.
