Luanda — Angolan minister of Family and Women Promotion, Genoveva da Conceição Lino, said Tuesday in Luanda that protection to the family and women will be the top priority for her sector in the coming four years.
The minister said so at the ceremony of her formal presentation to the workers of the ministry.
She said she will work on all actions contained in the Governing programme presented to the Angolan families, approved in the framework of the legislative election of September 5 this year.
The newly appointed minister said an attention will also be paid to vital actions that remained unattended during the term of her predecessor.
Genoveva da Conceição called for engagement and dedication from all those who welcomed the Ministry's project.
In her turn, the outgoing minister, Cândida Celeste, thanked for the assistance extended to her by the workers of the ministry during her term, stressing that this helped reach the goals outlined when the ministry was established.
Cândida Celeste appealed to the audience to continue with the assistance to the new management, with a view to the goals outlined by the Government, within the programme presented to the voters.
Genoveva Lino is the second minister of the sector since it was established on September 1, 1999, soon after the dismantling of the Secretariat of State for Women Development, then led by Joana Lina Cristiano.
