Luanda — A cooperation protocol aimed at easing the sharing of knowledge amongst players, coaches, referees and directors of table tennis of Angola and Portugal was on Saturday signed between the Angolan federation of the sport (FATM) and the Madeira Association (ATMM).
Valid for one year, which can be prorogued, the document was signed in the Madeira region by the chairperson of FATM, Filomeno Fortes, and the top director of the Portuguese Association, Juan Gonçalves.
ANGOP learnt that the agreement foresees sports cooperation and interchange, including competitions and trainings in Madeira and in Angola.
The Angolan official considered the signing of the cooperation agreement as an historic feat for the country since it will bring various benefits for the sport.
Filomeno Fortes said with this accord, he foresees the improvement of the physical conditions of Angolan players at international competition.
Angola already has a cooperation agreement with the Portuguese Table Tennis Federation, which resulted, among others, in participation of Angolan teams in competitions in Portugal, with highlight to the Youth Open.
