Tunisia/Seychelles: 2010 Football World Cup Qualifiers - Tunisia's Coach Announces List of Players to Face Seychelles And France

Tunis — Tunisia's football coach, Umberto Cuelho, has announced on Friday the list of players to face respectively the Seychelles on October11 in Rades, and France on October 14, at the Stade de France, in Paris.

The announcement came during a press point he gave on Friday at the Tunisian Football Federation.

The match against the Seychelles which counts as a qualifier both for the second round of the African Cup of Nations and the 2010 World Cup (Group 9), will have to be won by Tunisia by a decisive score, to enable the Carthage Eagles to come first ahead of Burkina Faso, in case the latter should lose to Burundi, said Cuelho.

As for the second match against France, a friendly to be played at the prestigious Stade de France near Paris, Tunisia "will be called upon t play offensively, whereas France will show more caution and will be on the defensive", he added.

He explained that he chose the players that were in form, especially the players currently playing in European clubs, such as the veteran Radhi Jaidi, Issam Jomaa and Alaeddine Yahia. Local players who distinguished themselves playing for their clubs in Tunisia were also selected, they include among others, Mohamed Ali Nafkha, Ammar Jemal and Wissem Ben Yahia.

Tunisia's coach also announced that he would be travelling to Germany , end of October , with a view of monitoring some Tunisian players likely to be selected to play for the national team.

He also said that he would go to Switzerland to enquire about the health of Yassine Chikhaoui -currently suffering from an injury- who plays for FC Zurich.

Here's the list of the 23 players selected:

Goalkeepers: Ayman Mathlouthi (ESS), Hamdi Kasraoui (EST), Jassem Khalloufi (CSS).

Defenders: Saber Ben Fredj (Le Mans, France), Anis Boussaidi (Red Bulls, Austria), Karim Hagui (Bayerb Leverkussen, Germany), Seif Ghezel (Young boys, Switzerland), Radhi Jaidi ( Birmingham, UK), Yassine Mikari (Grasshoppers, Switzerland), Ammar Jmel (ESS), Alaeddine Yahia (RC Lens, France).

Midfielders: Oussama Darragi (EST), Anis Boujelbene(Al Ahly, Egypt), Mohamed Ali Nafkha (ESS), Houssine Ragued (FC Mons, Belgium), Fahd Ben Khalfallah (Caen, France), Wissem Ben yahia (CA), Hichem Essifi (USM), Tijani Belaid ( Slavia Prague).

Attackers: Mohamed Selliti (ST), Issam Jomaa (Lens, France), Chaouki Ben Saada (OGC Nice, France).
