Luanda — The National Union of Plastic Artists (UNAP) will hold as from this Wednesday in Luanda a cycle of seminars, in the ambit of the commemorations of its 31st anniversary.
Speaking to ANGOP on Tuesday, the secretary general of UNAP, António Bastos, said that the lectures will highlight the importance of the institution in promoting the national plastic arts since its emergence on 8 October 1977.
Themes such as "UNAP's importance in diffusing the Angolan arts and culture", "the role of UNAP in building the history of the Angolan arts" and "The engraver, the work and the society", will be discussed.
In the celebrations of the association's anniversary, it is also inserted as highlight the inauguration of the engraving atelier, which has been stopped for more than 10 years, as well as a collective arts exhibition.
The secretary general asked businesspeople and entities linked to the culture sector to pay more attention to his institution, so as to conquer its space in the plan of promoting and spreading the arts in the country.
Over 200 plastic artists are UNAP members.
