Ottawa — The Angolan writer Isabel Ferreira released over the weekend, in the Canadian city of Montreal, her latest literary work entitled "O guardador de memórias".
The book, according to the author, keeps the memory of many women, some of whom even take up arms to fight for their lives, that at a certain moment put down their weapons to face a new stage in their existence.
"It is work that makes us laugh, but also makes us reflect, through the vision of the characters, in regard to Luanda city, the environment, education, tradition and the position of politicians in Luanda", she explained.
The 330-page book is being sold in Canada at the price of 25 Canadian dollars.
Born in Luanda on 24 May 1958, Isabel Ferreira has a degree in Law, from Angola, and also in Dramaturgy, from Portugal's Theatre Higher School of Amadora.
She has released a few other books, both in poetry and novel.
Meanwhile, on 26-27 September, the author participated in Montreal in the Lusodrama Festival, promoted by the "Arena das Artes" cultural association, based in that city.
Isabel Ferreira also intends to present, next week, her literary work in the cities of Ottawa and Toronto, as well as interact with the Angolan communities.
