Uganda: DPP Clears Kiwewesi on Sodomy Case

Kampala — THE Director of Pubic Prosecution (DPP) has said there is no evidence to prosecute pastor Isaac Kiwewesi of the Kansanga Miracle Centre. Kiwewesi had been accused of sodomising, David Arinaitwe, one of his worshipers since 2006.

The DPP cleared Kiwewesi after it was discovered that the accusations were false and could not proceed with the case. Jane Kajuga Okuo, the DPP's spokesperson, yesterday said: "In order for the DPP to sanction any file, there must be evidence to support the allegations and connect the suspect to the crime.

There is no evidence to support the allegation against Kiwewesi." She added that the allegation brought against Kiwewesi is a serious matter and the DPP could not just drag him to court
