Nigeria: Tsav Slams Suswam's Critics

Makurdi — A leading anti-corruption crusader and former Lagos State police commissioner, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav has faulted critics of the administration of Benue State governor, Gabriel Tor Suswam, saying they are only acting the script of their corrupt paymasters.

Tsav who challenged the critics to join him in what he described as "the war against actual corruption in Benue State", particularly reacted to an open letter recently written to Suswam in which the author, Mr. Clement Uhondo alleged high level co-rruption by the governor. Uhon-do who proceeded to the court to swear affidavit in support of his allegations of corruption, had also claimed that his son was abducted but later released by unidentified gunmen. He finge-red the state government.

The former Lagos State police boss, a Benue indigene, told Daily Trust in an interview that as a critic, he admired Uhondo's courage to challenge Suswam, but noted that the Makurdi based critic lacked facts to back his allegations which he sent to anti graft bodies including EFCC and ICPC.

Tsav noted that Uhondo was only acting a script written by his sponsors who according to him, "are not happy with the giant strides being recorded by Governor Suswam in his 16 months in office," he refused to mention names.
