Luanda — The Republic of Argentina desires to reach, by the year's end, a volume of exportations to Angola estimated at USD 200 million, to the contrary of the USD 165.8 million obtained in 2007, informed this Wednesday, in Luanda, that country's ambassador, Ricardo Víctor Roggero.
Speaking to the press on the fringes of the conference of the Angola/Argentina Chamber of Commerce, the Argentine diplomat informed that his country has authorised the practices of vegetable and animal genetics, which will enable the increase of cereals production, from 33 million tonnes, at the beginning of the year, to about 100 million.
According to the Argentine ambassador accredited to Angola, factors such as vegetable genetics or genetically modified seeds and the use of agricultural machines capable of measuring the amount of seed and choose the exact site for its application enable a better farming output.
Ricardo Roggero considered essential the intensification of relations between both countries, mainly in the agricultural sector in order to establish agreements in this field, taking into account the volume of exporting tropical products from Angola to Argentina.
He said that the cooperation proposals include the bringing of specialised Angolan technicians, to Angola, for a joint work towards the improvement of agrarian techniques such as the improvement of soil treatment.
The South American diplomat defended the need for a continuous search of new partnership possibilities, because "it is hoped that the priorities necessary to reinforce this cooperation are established during the next session of the bilateral commission, to happen in Luanda".
Ambassador Ricardo also expressed the interest to intensify the Angola/Argentina bilateral cooperation, both at the economic and human (staff training) levels in the various fields of knowledge, with highlight to medicine.
In the light of trade relations, Argentina mainly exports food products to Angola, on an annually basis.
