Former Ghanaian President, Ft. Lt. Jerry Rawlings (rted) is expected to attend the Rivers State Stakeholders' Conference on Sustainable Development next week.
The Desk Officer, Media and Public Communication for the conference, Mr. Freddy Ndigbara, disclosed this while briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt on preparations for the conference.
He said Jerry Rawlings is expected, to hold a get-together with the delegates, pointing out that the conference would build an enduring legacy for the people of the rural communities and chart a way forward for rural development.
According to Ndigbara, this is part of the awakening the organisers of the conference have been looking for the people of Niger Delta, stressing that the decision coming from Rawlings himself is an indication that the idea is good for our people.
He called on those who may not have the opportunity to represent their own clusters and communities to participate in the exhibition and contribute to the building of their community, adding that CDCs, community leaders, politicians, artisans, women and youths organisations are expected to attend the conference which would last for six days.
