Rwanda: Insurance Broker Comes to RAC Rescue

Afrika Risk an insurance brokerage company is in talks with the Rwanda Automobile Club (RAC) with a view of bankrolling the national rally calendar events.

In an interview with Times Sport recently the company's founder, Belgium born national rally navigator Jean Francois Desmare revealed that the brokers would lend a helping hand to Rwanda Automobile Club (RAC) and they are willing to sponsor the national rally championships.

Desmare who navigates national rally driver Marc Verdin in a Subaru Impreza came to Rwanda rally limelight during the 2005 NRC.

Since his debut, the Belgian has only participated Milles Collines Rally events of 2005, 2006 and 2007.

With the Western and Milles Collines rallies set to wind up the 2008 season, Desmare is hopeful to put in a better performance with the two rally events due late this month and early December.

Desmare said, "I enjoy participating in these rallies despite not being in position to win but am a winner too because not everybody finishes these rallies as we do,"
