Ghana: Opoku Drafted Into Stars

9 October 2008

Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder Jordan Opoku has been drafted into the Black Stars to replace Agyeman Badu who will go on duty with the national U-20 side instead.

The U-20s travel to Banjul this weekend to defend a 2-1 advantage in their bid to qualify for the African Youth Championships with Agyeman Badu an integral part of that.

His absence though has handed one of the most underrated players in the Ghana game his chance to stake a claim in the team especially with Moussa Narry reportedly boycotting the game over ticket refund issues.

Opoku's passing and energy in midfield has been magnificent for Kumasi Asante Kotoko after coming through the Gomao Fetteh Feyernood Academy but he will primarily be a back up in a side brimming with midfield talent.
