SWAKOPMUND estate agent Gerhard Hoon (35) of Welwitschia Estates yesterday shot his wife Muzelle (30) at their home before turning the gun on himself.
Both are in a critical condition at the Cottage Medi-Clinic - their two sons, five and one year old, are now with relatives.
The seriously wounded Muzelle Hoon called the emergency services to the house in Swakopmund's Extension 9 suburb just after lunchtime yesterday.
She was apparently shot in the garage, but somehow made her way to a telephone.
The bullet hit her in the chin and lodged in her head behind the ear.
Her husband then allegedly walked to the bedroom and shot himself in the head.
The incident allegedly took place in front of their sons, who were at the scene when emergency services and the Police arrived.
Police told The Namibian that the reason for the shooting was not clear yet, and that they are investigating.
