First Allied Savings and Loans, a leading savings and loans institution in Ghana, has been presented a Gold Award by the Ashanti Financial Savings Excellence Awards, for their excellence in the delivery of financial services in the Ashanti Region.

The Gold Award, according to a press statement, constituted the bank's fourth consecutive gold, having won it in 2004, 2005 and 2006 respectively, in the same category, as the best Savings and Loans Company.

The Managing Director (MD) of the company, Mr. P. Y. Amakye, said the company's successes were achieved through hard work, and that they would not be complacent with their achievements.

He said his outfit would rather continue working harder to achieve more laurels for the company and its clientele. Among the awards the company has won since its inception on the market, include the Most Outstanding Savings and Loans Company in 2000 and 2001, by Ashanti Trade and Technology, and the Most Innovative Product/Service Award in 2002, by the African Project Development Facility of the World Bank.

The bank is also a member of the Ghana's prestigious Club 100.

The company, according to the MD, would soon come out with a savings product, which would be ranked as the best savings product in the country.

He said the bank was currently embarking on a calculated branch expansion programme, to achieve a national presence, and added that the next in line of the new First Allied branches, were going to be in Mpraeso and Nkoranza, both in the Eastern and Brong-Ahafo regions respectively.
