Ghana: Norchip FC, the Unsung Heroes

Kofi Owusu Aduonum

9 October 2008

Division One campaigners, Norchip FC fought gallantly in this year's Division One National Middle League but their efforts yielded no efforts.

Grouped alongside clubs such as Eleven Wise, Westham and Samatex in Zone 2, Norchip demonstrated brilliance and dexterity, but they failed to achieve their long cherished dream of joining the elite division, the premier league.

Norchip joined the Division One League five years ago and came close to picking a premiership ticket last season, but they missed the premiership wagon narrowly at the expense of Kessben FC, now premiership candidates.

This setback notwithstanding, Mr. Joe De Graft Danquah, one of the directors of the club told this reporter in an interview that "We are going to the drawing board right away to put our house in order, ahead of next season's competition."

They finished the competition on a good note by beating Westham 1-0 at the Tema park
