Ghana: Wise, Chelsea Qualify for Premiership

After 10years in Ghana's soccer wilderness in the Division One League (DOL), Western Show boys, Sekondi Eleven Wise regained their premiership status after winning by 2-0 over Samartex, at the El Wak Stadium, yesterday.

Papa Owusu Ankomah, the Member of Parliament for Sekondi gave the club GH¢2000 for their efforts in qualifying to the premiership.

In a similar manner, premiership debutants, Bechem Chelsea stunned former premiership side and Soccer Apostles, BA United by1-0 to pick one of the premiership slots at the Baba Yara Stadium, in an uncompromising clash yesterday.

In the other results, St. Mirren thrashed Royal Knights 3-0 to brighten their chances of picking the last premiership ticket when they face Fair Point this weekend.

Visiting Soccer Warriors pipped Upper Stars 1-0, while Power FC defeated Fair Point 1-0. At the Tema Park, Norchip defeated Westham 1-0 in a mere academic exercise.
