Angola: Minister Pledges to Work Toward Mineral Resources Exploitation

Luanda — The full exploitation of the country's mineral resources and the drop in prices of building materials of mineral origin will characterise, as from 2008, the actions of Geology and Mining Ministry, said Thursday in Luanda, the new minister, Mankenda Ambroise.

Speaking at the presenting ceremony to the technicians of the sector, Mankenda Ambroise said that the ministry will also focus its activity on combat for the increase of jobs in mining industry, thus contributing to reduction of unemployment and poverty rate in the country.

Sworn-in on October 03, minister Ambroise emphasised that his administration will also work for the country's operating and efficient mining sector, interacting with the population, mainly those living in exploration areas.

Another important action, stressed Makenda Ambroise, is the connection of synergies with private companies operating in the sector, in order to widen the results set by the government in benefit of the country and all those who are optimistic about success, for a better Angola

Angola has many mineral resources, among them, diamond, iron, copper, gold, uranium and oil.
