Luanda — The ambassador of Vietnam to Angola, Nguyen Van Tho, Wednesday in Beijing (China) congratulated the Angolan people on the legislative election of September 5 this year.
The diplomat expressed the praise during a meeting he held with his Angolan colleague, João Manuel Bernardo.
The meeting was meant for the ambassador to deliver a message from Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, to his Vietnamese counterpart.
"We can not conceal this sentiment. We watchfully followed the electoral process in Angola, and we just have to say: congratulation to the Government and people of Angola on the civism showed during the election," he said on the occasion.
He stated as well the moment for Angolans is of responsibility to show that it was deserving the trust of the electorate in voting for the ruling MPLA party.
In his turn, João Manuel Bernardo thanked the gesture, stressing that Vietname and Angola enjoy historical ties based on mutual aid.
The Angolan diplomat assured that the Government that emerged from the September 5 election is aware of its responsibilities and will do its best, under the leadership of president José Eduardo dos Santos, to address the voters' expectations.
The two expressed the wish for strengthened ties of friendship and cooperation existing between the two peoples and countries.
