Luanda — The National Statistics Institute (INE) will launch an electronic service website, in short term, to make more comprehensive and easy the statistic materials produced by that institution, pledged Wednesday in Luanda the institution's director-general, Maria Ferreira de Oliveira.
The official said this to the press after a ceremony aimed at presenting a Portuguese project called Local Action for Applied Statistics (ALEA).
She said that the institution has been operating for two years toward the creation of a website, for development of programmes and contents.
According to Maria de Oliveira, as soon as the process is concluded, INE website will be available to the public and will enable a large knowledge of several statistic data of the country to the producers of statistics and to the population interested in works carried out by the institute.
In his turn, the Portuguese consultant, José Bernardo Lemos, while presenting the ALEA project, explained that it (project) started in 1998 following difficulties encountered in understanding of information and concepts about statistics by young students at high school in Portugal.
The ALEA website is used by 676 Portuguese schools and is already applied in the Unite States of America, Finland, Ireland, Spain and Sao Tome and Principe, among other countries.
