Uganda: Rugby Cranes Fail Nakuru Sevens Test

Nairobi — UGANDA Rugby Cranes were relegated to the plate event of the Nakuru 7s tournament when they finished third in the annual event yesterday.

Uganda managed one win, drew one game and lost one to finish behind runners up Strathmore and winners Kenya Harlequins who booked tickets to today's quarterfinals of the main cup.

The Rugby Cranes opened their campaign with a 19-19 draw against the 2006 champions Harlequins.

Cranes failed to win despite dominating the game.

Robert Seguya, Timothy Mudoola, new sensation Michael Wokorach, Seguya and Joel Anguyo were the key performers for the Uganda team.

In the second game, the Cranes were stunned 10-7 by Strathmore University who had trailed 0-7 at half time.
