Lucas Radebe's wife, Feziwe, died on Saturday morning after a long battle with cancer.
She had been diagnosed with the disease before the end of Radebe's career at Leeds United but fought for many years against it.
Her death has come as a devastating blow to the former Bafana Bafana captain. His young son, Lucas junior, is only nine and daughter Owami is four.
Feziwe is also survived by parents, Eunice and Lesley Ngqobe, and sister, Thandiwe.
