Ghana/Lesotho: Appiah in the Starting Line-Up

11 October 2008

The Essipong Stadium is packed to the rafters for Ghana's World Cup qualifier against Lesotho.

The Black Stars need all three points to stand any chance of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup and the Sekondi town folk have come out in their numbers to support them. But security has been lax with fans forcing two gates open and the stadium overpacked.

Milovan Rajevac has chosen to start Stephen Appiah from the off but there is no place for Jonathan Quartey who has lost his place to the returning John Mensah.

There is also no place for Prince Tagoe with hot shot Matthew Amoah preferred as strike partner for Junior Agogo.

Starting line-up

Richard Kingston, John Paintsil, Harrison Afful, John Mensah, Eric Addo, Anthony Annan, Stephen Appiah, Daniel Yeboah, Sulley Muntari, Junior Agogo, Matthew Amoah
