Angola: Police Chief Happy About Corporation's Work

Namibe — The second general commander of the National Police for Public Order, commissioner Paulo de Almeida, this Friday expressed, in south-west Namibe province, his satisfaction at the work carried out by the corporation in this region.

The official made these declarations at the end of a visit paid to Namibe province, having observed that the corporation has been fulfilling government's instructions concerning operational, administrative and organisational issues.

The top police officer, who is also the co-ordinator of the technical sub-commission of the programme of disarming the civilian population, learnt about this process that is happening normally in the province.

For two days in the region, the second police commander handed over a vehicle to the technical sub-commission for disarming and met, in separate, to the acting governor and with the consultative council of the provincial command of the National Police.

He visited magazines with weapons that were collected and visited the future police training centre.

Commissioner Paulo de Almeida's delegation has already left Namibe for the neighbouring Huila province for a similar visit.
