Asmara — In a seminar he conducted to Eritrean citizens living in the Swiss cities of Geneva and Bern, Prof. Gidewon Abbay, an Eritrean intellectual, said that the all-round national development endeavors which the people and Government of Eritrea are undertaking is aimed at building a strong and prosperous nation.
Outlining the heavy sacrifices and the trying challenges the Eritrean people had waged since the 1940s to ensure their independence, Prof. Gidewon indicated that major accomplishments have been scored in economic development and reconstruction programs in the post-independence period.
He went on to explain that the TPLF regime's war of aggression against Eritrea has been foiled through the Eritrean people's steadfastness and resistance. The intellectual further pointed out that the nation's border has now been clearly demarcated on the map through virtual demarcation thanks to the careful legal handling of the Eritrean government, and that the sole remaining task is the withdrawal of the Ethiopian occupation forces from sovereign Eritrean territories. In this regard, he called on Eritrean nationals inside the country and abroad to reinforce national unity.
The participants of the seminar reaffirmed their readiness to rebuff all acts of enemy conspiracy and hostility.
