11 October 2008

Kampala — President Yoweri Museveni has asked United Arab Emirates based Dodsal Engineering and Construction Ltd to develop the Entebbe International Airport master plan.

Meeting a delegation from DE&C Ltd last Wednesday, Museveni disclosed that the Government would soon construct the new Kampala-Entebbe road in order to streamline Entebbe International Airport operations.

DE&C Ltd General Manager Pratap Kasbekar who led a delegation to the meeting at State House, Entebbe, said his organisation would develop Entebbe Airport into an international hub.

A State House release stated that Kasbekar, who also expressed interest in the energy sector, proposed that the airport should be expanded to include its development into a free trade zone.

The meeting was attended by state ministers John Byabagambi and Fred Ruhindi plus officials from the Civil Aviation Authority.
