Sportswear manufacturer Adidas has signified its willingness to kit the 35 referees that will officiate the matches of the Ibori U-20 Cup tournament to be competed for by the 16-member nations in West Africa.

Indications to this effect emerged from the aggressive marketing initiative of the official marketer to the West Africa Football Union (WAFU), Pamodzi Sports Marketing (PSM) with Adidas chiefs in Germany penultimate Thursday.

It was disclosed further that Adidas would supply the balls to be used for the competition without any financial commitment since the sportswear manufacturers only do football business with the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) and the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF).

Already, substantial progress has been made to strike a deal between WAFU and AIT as the official broadcaster of the Ibori Cup competition, although Super Sports are also angling to be part of the broadcast arrangement for the competition that has been fixed to begin from November 30 to December 14.
