Namboole — Geoffrey Massa and Eugene Sseppuuya will lead Uganda Cranes' attack in today's crunch 2010 World Cup/Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at Namboole.

The Cranes need an authoritative victory to stand a chance of overhauling Angola from second place in Group 3. The Black Antelopes host Niger in Luanda.

The Cranes have vowed to attack Benin from the onset.

Cranes coach Bobby Williamson is without four of the players that lost 1-3 to Niger in their previous match, but the Scottish tactician believes that the available players have the necessary class to secure the required result.

Defender Andy Mwesigwa, goalkeeper Denis Onyango (both suspended), Joseph Kabagambe and David Obua (both injury) will be missing in action. "I have so much hope in the players available. They have been together for a good number of days and the bond will be reflected in the final result," said Williamson.

Posnet Omwony, Mike Ssebalinga and Vincent Kayizzi have been drafted in to start in the black-yellow-red stripe for the first time in a long time.

"They are in good shape and they will be up to the task to prove to the entire nation that they can easily fit into the team," Williamson said. Keeper Omwony last featured for the Cranes against Libya in Tripoli in 2006 whereas Kayizzi had lost his place to Joseph Kabagambe.

The coach is counting on the crossing abilities of Ssebalinga and Kayizzi to feed the strikers. "Vincent (Kayizzi) and Michael (Ssebalinga) are good crossers of the ball and that is a vital aspect in the 4-4-2 formation.

You need somebody to deliver the balls into the box," he said. The coach has also kept faith in Massa despite his long spell in the national team without a goal. He will partner Sseppuuya who has already netted twice in the campaign.

Geoffrey Sserunkuuma is to start on the bench. Sseppuuya scored the only goal in the 4-1 humiliation at the hands of Benin in Cotonou and he believes it is the time to avenge that defeat.
