Luanda — The head of the European Union (EU)'s delegation in Angola, ambassador João Marques Ferreira Gabriel, on Saturday in Luanda said that it was fruitful the annual meeting between the EU missions and Southern African Development Community (SADC)'s countries representatives, which was held on 29 September to 03 October, in Brussels, Belgium.
Speaking to ANGOP, João Gabriel, who attended the mentioned forum, said that the gathering made a balance of various matters in different areas, since the last meeting held in 2007 in Maputo, Mozambique, as well as drafted the programme for the coming year, whose meeting will be held in Namibia in 2009.
The event also ratified the Cotonou Agreement which will guide a series of bilateral relations at state and regional levels, mainly in the domain of co-operation, having into account the Paris Declaration as a new strategy for African countries.
The EU ambassador also explained that the meeting manifested a great interest in the legislative elections held in Angola on September 05 2008.
"Although an Observation Mission, at the level of the European Union, made its analysis (of the polls), I myself spoke about the elections in Angola and the EU colleagues were satisfied." He stressed.
