Nakuru — In the wake Uganda Rugby Cranes' less than convincing performances on the opening day of the 2008 Prinsloo Nakuru Sevens, coaching director David Dobela has stated that the team needs to improve on it's attitude.
Speaking to Sunday Monitor in Nakuru after the team fell out of the Main Cup into the Plate League, Dobela could not comprehend why the team lost its aggression.
"In sport, things do not go your way at all time but these players often fail to show that extra desire to win. They also despised their opponents a bit," Dobela said.
After watching the ruggers draw 19-19 with Kenya Cup winners Harlequins, lose 7-10 to Strathmore and thump Kenya Polytechnic 60-0, the South African also demanded that players maintain concentration in subsequent matches.
"A kick was wasted (by Robert Sseguya) against Quins despite poor refereeing decisions. Thereafter, we missed many other kicks because of losing focus," he added in a disconsolate tone.
RESULTS
Uganda 19-19 Quins
Strathmore 10-7 Uganda
Uganda 60-0 Kenya Poly
