Nigeria full back Chidi Odiah has attributed the Super Eagles' rejuvenation to a renewed sense of team spirit.
Following a disastrous Nations Cup performance in Ghana early this year, the Eagles have bounced back to canter through the second phase of the 2010 world Cup/African Nations Cup qualifiers with a one hundred percent record, conceding just one goal and playing some delightful football.
Odiah has no doubts where the secret of the success comes from.
"We have a good team spirit," he told KickOffNigeria.com after Sunday's 4-1 victory over Sierra Leone. "We are one big family and the atmosphere in the team is good and I think that has helped us a lot."
Much more than team spirit though, is required to win on the green grass and the CSKA Moscow defender acknowledges that.
"We worked very hard during the week and we just showed all the hard work.
"We just went out to enjoy ourselves, and we are happy we got a good result."
The Super Eagles will now wait to see who they get in the final lap of qualification for South Africa 2010.
The draws come up on October 22.
