Nyarugenge — The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Rosemary Museminari Friday said that Kigali was enjoying good relations with Uganda.
The minister made the remarks while addressing hundreds of people who turned up to celebrate Uganda's 46th independence at Serena Hotel, Kigali.
She said that the two sister countries were sharing good bilateral relationships which will spur development for the two nations.
"We are proud to be celebrating Uganda's independence here in Rwanda. Let us work together to consolidate our achievements," Museminari said.
On the 9th October every year, Uganda marks her independence from colonial Britain with celebrations across the country and in the Diaspora.
"Today, Rwanda and Uganda are having strong ties and we shall continue to work together to maintain peace and security in the region because it is a necessary tool if development is to be achieved," she added.
Uganda's Ambassador to Rwanda, Richard Kabonero, encouraged Ugandans to invest more in Rwanda, saying that the country has a good investment climate.
"We are enjoying a good relationship with Rwanda and the changes along the borders have improved business in the two countries. Rwanda is now a stable country and you should take this chance to do business here," Kabonero said.
He also hailed Rwanda for organising peaceful parliamentary elections that ended last month.
