Kampala — Fear for long time and serious injuries will not be on the minds of Cranes players when they take on Benin today in a crucial 2010 World Cup/Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

National Insurance Corporation (NIC) yesterday unveiled a Shs 360m insurance policy for all Cranes players to cover them against injuries while training, playing and after playing for the national team for a period of one year.

Corporation Chief of Marketing Jocelyn Uchanda revealed that the policy extends to assist player's families in case of death while on international duty.

"We are behind the Cranes, we want the players to play without any fears because this match is very important. We are certain it will bring good luck to the team like it did against Nigeria." Uchanda said.

Fufa President Lawrence Mulindwa applauded NIC for the gesture, reiterating the importance of insurance in modern football.

"This sponsorship is very timely because we are heading for the biggest battle of our campaign. There will be no reason to panic. There is no reason why we cant score as many goals as we want." Mulindwa said.

Cranes coach Bobby Williamson re-echoed the importance of insurance, noting that it instils the spirit of determination in players and will be instrumental in their hunt for the much needed win today.
