Kenya: Sigei Wins Inaugural Kipkelion Peace Race

Nairobi — Kericho's Barnabas Sigei on Saturday won the inaugural 10-kilometres Kipkelion peace road with a time of 29:38.83.

Sigei broke away with four kilometres to win the race which took place at the Momoniat Primary School in Kipkelion district. .

He was followed in second place by Puis Rotich who clocked 29:47 and Amos Kaptich who took third position with a time of 29 minutes 49.0 seconds.

Richard Bett was placed fourth with a time of 30:0.30 while Michael Mutai of Kuresoi took fifth position after clocking 30 minutes 05.39 seconds.

Kipyemit's Philip Kiprono closed the sixth position a time of 30 minutes 40.45seconds.

The race attracted 405 athletes drawn from Rift Valley Province.
