Luanda — Angola Physicians Order Friday in Luanda recognised the work done by the regional director for Africa of the World Health Organisation, Luís Gomes Sambo.
Speaking at a ceremony of homage that the WHO paid to Luís Gomes Sambo, in Luanda, the chairman of the order, Carlos Pinto de Sousa, said the class recognises the work and value of the director in his duties and cooperation for the globalisation of sanitarian solutions.
He said on the occasion that Luís Gomes Sambo is a citizen of the world that guides his activity through supreme values that transcend his africanity in favour of an autentic humanism in which the man is the centre of attentions.
According to the official, the work of the WHO regional director is wide and all along to the benefit and respect for human life, even when he had to carry out tasks under precarious circumstances.
The ceremony was attended by the management of the Ministry of Health, physicians, high ranking officials of the WHO/Afro and relatives of Luís Gomes Sambo.
