Kenya: Jamaican Reggea Star Luciano Thrills Nairobi

Jamaican reggae roots musician Luciano wowed Nairobi revelers at a recent charity concert. He performed at Serve Jah function at the Splash Waterworld in Nairobi in aid of two children's homes in the Kenya. Curtain raisers included reggae icons Mickey General, Ragga Lox and Living Truth, amongst others. They also did not disappoint. Luciano was

born Jepther Washington McClymont (some sources say Jephter McClymount), in 1974, in Davey Town, Jamaica. A devout Rastafarian, the Jamaican-born reggae singer incorporates spiritual and social beliefs into his music.

Leading Billboard writer Elena Oumano describes his song It's Me Again Jah as "Jamaica's anthem for its return to roots rock and its task of social transformation." He has recorded many albums and his first single, Ebony and Ivory was released in 1991, he recorded hit single Give My Love a Try in 1993, Shake It Up Tonight in 1994, Where There Is Life in 1995, A New Day in 2001 and The Best of Luciano in 2002.
