Deputy minister of information and communications Mohamed Koroma Friday admitted that President Ernest Bai Koroma's pending cabinet reshuffle was already sending shocking waves among ministers, with many already panicky.
However, his boss minister Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo, who returns today from an ICT conference in Nigeria told this reporter on the phone that he was never jittery because he ministry continues to break new grounds since its inception.
Meanwhile, deputy minister Koroma confessed that since rumors started making the rounds that the President would soon reshuffle his cabinet, some ministers have always felt completely uneasy, especially at the mentioning of what has been tagged 'the executive tsunami.'
"President Koroma is the only person with the sole prerogative to reshuffle cabinet. He has the power to retain and fire ministers," Koroma said.
He added: "There is an unusual atmosphere of panic amongst cabinet ministers. All of us are panicked. This is just like the President is going to read our results."
He said about 75-85 % of ministers performed excellently.
Koroma said reshuffling cabinet does not imply mean that some ministers failed in their duties. He said it was natural that some ministers should be dropped, new ministers recruited and others swapped.
"A cabinet position is not the property of any individual," he said.
When asked whether President shows his the exit door, Koroma said he has got his constituency.
"I have my constituency and return ticket as a managing editor of a newspaper. I am a journalist with 18 years experience."
He said President Koroma has confident in all the ministers appointed.
It could be recalled that President Koroma's signed a one year performance contract with all his ministers.
