LICCSAL business college Friday turned the sod for the construction of the college's new site at Freetown Road, Wilberforce.
Acting director of tertiary education commission SM Kuyateh said he was happy to be part of that epoch making ceremony.
Kuyateh said the main objective of his commission was to improve on basic education in the country, adding that his institution had approved LICCSAL long ago.
One of the board members of the college and former mayor of Freetown Winstanley Johnson thanked the Anglican Diocese for providing the land to LICCSAL.
"LICCSAL had moved one step forward in terms of education," he said.
Rev. Qaui Warn lauded pro-credit bank for awarding his institution the loan.
"We have started achieving some of the dreams of the college. Our dream will come true in February 2009," he said.
He said the college would have a library, three computer laboratories, nine classrooms and a canteen.
The college, Rev. Warn, said has 800 students.
Wilberforce committee president said that he was very proud and that his community plays host to the college.
