APC councilor Kabbah Stephen Turay of Ward 332 in Freetown Saturday praised former SLPP parliamentary aspirant for the pivotal role he played in developing his community.

Pastor David Chambers was commended for developing Gbendebu, Majay Town and other settlements within the community.

"I am pleased with all the contributions Pastor David Chambers has made in bringing peace and development in various communities in the area. We are expecting him to bring more development projects in the community. It is important that we put politics aside and move forward," Turay said.

Councilor Turay said the donation of tools for the maintenance of the community roads was a step in the right direction.

"You will have my support and that of the entire community. I am not working for APC but for the people of this community. I am ready to work with anybody that has good plans for this community," he said.

Pastor David Chambers said though he lost the parliamentary election, he was determined to work with the authorities concerned in a bid to develop the community.

He said he was working with a group of women to rehabilitate roads in the community.

"Elections are events. Our aspiration was to have somebody that can move Sierra Leone forward. We are pleased to have President Ernest Bai Koroma as our leader. Therefore, we need to work together for development of Sierra Leone," he said.

Pastor Chambers said he has provided materials and food for work to people doing the job.

"Today I am donating five shovels, pickaxes and two wheelbarrows to rehabilitate our dilapidated roads," he said adding that he was always ready to support his community. Konton Sesay, a community elder thanked Pastor Chambers for the gesture.
