Luanda — The Provincial Electoral Commission (CPE) of Luanda this Monday denied, in a communiqué, the existence of a lawsuit on election-related issues against the commissary Agostinho Miguel de Lima.
According to the document of CPE, this information were published by private organs and only aim at tarnishing the image of Agostinho Miguel de Lima, since no commissary is in charge of committing a crime, in the light the September 05, 2008 legislative elections.
The communiqué adds that Agostinho Miguel de Lima is not the provincial director for Elections, as published by the "Agora" weekly paper, since that structure does not exist, but he is provincial commissary of Luanda.
CPE also refers that this controversy results from the unfamiliarity with structures of the National Electoral Commission (CNE) and its local organs.
In the country's capital, Luanda, the legislative elections were extended to September 06 due to operational reasons.
MPLA obtained 81,64 percent of the votes, which enabled it to have 191 MPs, from the 220 seats available in the National Assembly (parliament).
