Luanda — The head of the provincial department of Public Health and Endemics Control, Isilda Neves, said Monday in Luanda that all is in place for the prevention of maternal death and reduction of indexes in Angola.
The official was addressing the first session of the regional meeting on haemorrhage during pregnancy, delivery and post-delivery in Africa.
She said that among the causes of pregnancy-related hypertension diseases, haemorrhage during pregnancy tops the list.
Isilda Neves said as well that Angola is among the countries with the highest rates, adding that the maternal death prevention committees are organised for an inventory of the tolls and reduction of cases.
The meeting that is going under the motto "All for a safe maternity", aims at a share of experience in prevention and management of haemorrhage during pregnancy, delivery and post-delivery.
It is also intended for the formulation of recommendations for the implementation of priority actions in the domain of training and services towards the reduction of death associated with haemorrhage.
The identification of strategies, roles and responsibilities of the professional health associations and training institutions are also part of the purposes of the meeting.
The ongoing meeting will be followed by the 4th scientific events on genecology and obstetrics.
