Asmara — The visiting delegation from the Sudanese Trade Union Federation held talks with different Eritrean officials on strengthening bilateral relations.
In a meeting with the delegation, Mr. Abdalla Jabir, Head of Organizational Affairs at the PFDJ, stressed the need for the two trade union organizations to work diligently so that the historical and strategic Eritrean-Sudanese relations would benefit both workers organizations and peoples.
Also in a meeting with the NCEW Executive Committee, Mr. Tekeste Baire, Secretary General of the Confederation, underlined the significance of ensuring and preserving strong popular ties so that the relations would not be confined between the two workers organizations.
The delegation on its part expressed appreciation to the warm welcome accorded to its members and pointed out that the role Eritrea played in peacefully resolving the East Sudan issue attests to the historical relations between the two countries. It further stated that the delegation would strive to further develop and strengthen such ties.
The delegation from the Sudanese Trade Union Federation comprises workers representatives of Gedarif, Kessala and Port Sudan regions. Following a visit to Gash-Barka, Northern Red Sea, Anseba and Central regions, the delegation would hold talks on enhancing bilateral relations and conclude agreements.
It is to be recalled that a delegation from the National Confederation of Eritrean Workers (NCEW) held similar meetings in the course of a visit to Sudan last month.
