Colonel Andemariam Woldenkiel, indicated that the plant used to produce only 70,000 bricks at a given time but at present its production has been raised to over 200,000 bricks at a given time. He further pointed out that this production capacity would play major role in facilitating the implementation of projects in different parts of Gash-Barka region through Badme Construction Company. The factory would also supply bricks to the market in due course, he added.
The acting head of the factory, Mr. Yohannes Beyin, on his part explained that all the materials the factory utilizes are produced locally at minimal expenses. He added that the factory would make due contribution in the ongoing reconstruction and development programs.

These bricks are produced at "minimal expenses" because they are made by soldiers for free or for tocken stipends. The most important construction is the rebuilding of a nation were there is no forced or slave labor, where the voiceless Eritrean people will have the right to have a constitutional government and freedom of expression. Eritrea has misplaced priorities. The government has to learn to bring people first. There is no growth when people are deprived of freedom and justice. The government has failed to grow up.
