Luanda — A delegation of Unaca-Confederation of Peasants Associations and Farming Co-operatives of Angola is travelling this week to Maputo, Mozambique, to attend the 5th International Conference of the "La Via Campesina" taking place from October 17-120.
Speaking to Angop, in Luanda, Unaca-Confederation deputy chairperson, Albano da Silva Lussati, stated that officials of his institution will join one of the eight working commissions in which Angola will transmitted its position towards the strengthening of the organisation and its members.
Unaca-Confederation representatives, that will be part of Agriculture Sustainable Commission will defend measures on the implementation of agriculture reforms, implementation of rural women development and defence of rights and guarantees of youth peasants in the organisation's member countries.
Albano Lussati said that Angolan delegates will also contribute to improve health, education and peasant families' social living, highlighting that Angola, through Unaca-Confederation, will be elected by effective members of the "La Via Campesina" at the meeting.
"La Via Campesina" is the massive international movement.
