Angola: Interclube and Libolo Open First Division's 24th Round

Luanda — Interclube (titleholder) will this Tuesday host Recreativo do Libolo at 03:30pm at "22 de Junho" stadium, in the opening match of the 24th round of the national first division soccer tournament, Girabola2008.

Recreativo do Libolo is placed third in the competition with 40 points and Interclube occupy the ninth position with 26 points.

This encounter will be played with anticipation since Inter will play away next weekend against Harass of Egypt for the last round of group 1, an encounter part of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Cup. The Angolan champions have three points at the bottom of the group's standings, less four than their opponents. The group is being led by CS Sfaxien of Tunisia with 10 points.

The 24th round of Girabola shall be marked by the main highlight derby of the national football arena when 1º de Agosto and Petro de Luanda face off on Saturday at Coqueiros stadium, in the country's capital.

The round shall be completed with the following matches: Benfica do Lubango-1º de Maio de Benguela, Benfica de Luanda-Sagrada Esperança, ASA-Santos FC and Kabuscorp-Petro do Huambo.

Petro de Luanda leads Girabola with 51 points, whilst Benfica do Lubango is at the bottom of the standings table with 19.
