Luanda — The just-ended regional meeting on haemorrhage during pregnancy, delivery and post-delivery, held in Luanda, gave all attending physicians an opportunity to learn how to disseminate the best practices and fight maternal the evil.
This was said Tuesday in Luanda by Angolan Health minister, José Van-Dúnem.
Speaking at the closing of the regional meeting, José Van-Dunem expressed his satisfaction and sentiment of fulfilled duty, saying he was sure changes will come.
The minister also thanked the WHO for the opportunity it granted for the meeting to take place in Angola, in view of the macro-economic stability, stressing that there are huge challenges with the reduction of maternal and infant death associated with haemorrhages.
According to him, the meeting will serve for each and every physician to practice the techniques as to how to avoid haemorrhages at their respective workplaces.
He also invited the WHO to hold more such events in order to permit a closer unity among the health sector's partners.
The meeting was attended by about 200 participants, among locals and foreigners, including the WHO regional director for Africa, Luis Gomes Sambo, of Angola.
