Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has expressed satisfaction with the extent of work on the extension of the Warri City Stadium.
The Governor, who stated this in Warri stadium while inspecting work done said that based on the extent of job carried out so far by the contracting firm handling the project Waland Services Limited, he is sure the job will be completed on schedule.
He said the State Government decided to execute the stadium project, because of the importance it places on sports development, adding that on completion the stadium will help the present administration tackle the menace of youth restiveness in the state, as youths will now have where to dissipate their energy and win laurels for the state at sporting competitions.
The state governor said funds for the project have already been allocated in this year's budget.
The Governor however, called on youths in the stadium area to maintain the stadium and stop vandalisation of its facilities.
He advised them to be patient as the state government has plans to bring back companies to the state that would create jobs, adding that very soon, the water ways will soon be opened.
Areas inspected by the Governor include the new scoreboard, playing turf, dressing rooms, VIP lounge, amongst others.
