Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba, has asked members to withdraw their services from the Adult and Pediatrics Emergency units with immediate effect until further notice.

A communiqué issued by the association, stated that the hospital management had continued to demonstrate insensitivity towards the doctors by peddling half-truths and outright misrepresentation over certain issues in the hospital.

They described the action of the management as insulting, derogatory, inciting and insensitive.

The president of the ARD, Dr. Oyedeji Olufemi, said their demand for provision of adequate security in the hospital was yet to be met by the management.

Other demands of the doctors include immediate replacement of all items stolen from the four female resident doctors sexually harassed by robbers in the hospital recently and adequate compensation for the victims.
