The member, representing Mariga Constituency in the Niger State House of Assembly, Alhaji Usman Garba, has executed various projects worth over N40 million.
Garba, who stated this at a press briefing in Minna yesterday, said the projects were his personal initiative aimed at impacting positively on the lives of his people.
He said the projects include distribution of over 45, 000 exercise books to primary and secondary schools, drilling of 69 boreholes, distribution of 24 generators to mosques and district heads, donation of 600 bags of cement and 50 bundles of zinc for the renovation of dilapidated school buildings.
According to him, the projects include donation of 100 footballs to various youth organisations, financial assistance to over 200 students in tertiary and secondary institutions, financial assistance to sick persons and assisting over 100 candidates to secure admission to various tertiary institutions among others.
The lawmaker also expressed dismay over the manner the police is handling the case of those arrested in connection with the boat mishap which claimed the lives of three top government officials on August 28, 2008.
