Luanda — The minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva, this Wednesday left for central Huambo province, where she will preside over the opening ceremony of the third meeting on vernacular languages, on her first mission to the country's interior region since being sworn in.

For three days the minister and various national and foreign experts will, together with the education sector, assess and analyse the mechanisms necessary for the introduction of vernacular languages into the academic system and in the institutional sphere of the country.

The event also aims at boosting the current state of vernacular languages, share ideas and experiences on the issue for its development and insertion in the education system.

Encouraging investors, studious, artists, creators, mainly musicians and singers to reflect on the Angolan linguistic heritage, contribute to the implementation of dignity, unity and preserving national cultural values, as well as deciding future actions to be inserted in the standardisation of all vernacular languages, are also part of the meeting's programme.
